Technically not achieving or on pace for 30 this year, but Crosby was out for all but a couple of minutes regular season and Malkin missed a pile of games.

This season is now the past. He may have hurt his paycheque in some eyes, but 11 pts in 13 plus point per game in playoffs until the entire team, best player in the world included, pulled up lame. If we are basing market value on the last series, only Vokoun is worthy of a multimillion dollar deal.
Contracts are based on what a player can do for a team in the future, not what he did for a team in past. Iginla has proven that he can score, but he has also proven to be a handful to coach and a difficult player to find guys to play with. He plays his game, even when it flies in the face of what the coach wants from the team. Iggy is no longer a first line player. He's lost a step and it shows. Iginla is more of a second line guy, if you have players that will cover his defensive responsibilities for him. It will be interesting to see where he shakes out. I think the best bet is Edmonton. They have the need and the money to pay him. They are also not afraid to let players do their own thing. Seems like the best fit. Will be interested to see how the fan club reacts if he signs there.
