Its pretty much a given that Kevin Lowe is above the law in Edmonton becausee of his name not his competance. Mac-T is probably above the law because Katz probably has an un-healty exotic fixation with former Oilers its seems.
The players are above accountability, you could see where they gave up last year. There's a losing culture and low expectations of the team from management.
Instead of hiring former players over and over again, and bringing back guys that were former employees, a good owner would have gutted that front office from Lowe down for dismal failure since 2006, and bought in a
Paul Maurice type who actually has won at the NHL level and knows how to deal with young NHL players.
Eakin's has no real experience in coaching NHL players at a head coaching level, and this is quite different from coaching young AHL players.

Perhaps you should read interviews regarding how this played out. It was never intended when interviews were happening that Krueger was being replaced. Those interviews were for an associate coach in which Kreuger had agreed was required anyway. Throughout the process mactavish realized philosophical differences and obviously found someone who better fit his plans on how the team he is in charge of should go.
And Krueger was in Europe at time of firing, please name anyone who would fly there to deliver the news or expect him to fly back to canada to get the news? Not gonna happen.
