Not really that overblown. 42% of all players drafted under his watch were WHL players. 25 of 40 CHL players drafted under his watch were WHL players.
You can argue if this was a problem or a detriment to the team and it's prospect pool or not. But the preference/predisposition is clearly there in black and white.
