Any noise out of the Feaster camp other than this sentiment is just him trying to save whatever face he has left.

Feaster jumped the gun, making a pretty bold assumption, and made yet another bad decision by almost publicly telling the Bruins his "personal favourite" deal is done, enough assurance that a guy went on national TV and stick his neck out. If Feaster actually took the time to talk and confirm with Iginla, with a trade of such magnitude (no idea how he wouldn't or shouldn't) none of this ever surfaces, as what happens numerous times behind the scenes with trades that another team (Boston) was even in the mix let alone announced an hour before on national TV that it was where he was headed.

So, Feaster took another hit in the credibility department around the league and with agents over yet another miscalculation and his penchant for "leaking" things to the others. He got burned and obviously got pretty fired up. But his own fault; blaming Iginla, blaming his agent (as he's done) and talking down about Iginla since, is bad form when the Flames don't need any more negative perceptions about them if they want to be considered less of a joke than they are rapidly becoming within the league.

The 2 deals were not "fairly close". There was a reason KK and Feaster tried to talk Iggy to go to Boston for almost 12 hours.
