I support Lindy West's right to call comedians dicks and try to get sponsors to stop supporting guys that she doesn't like, but I think her argument would be a lot more effective if she did a better job of understanding and acknowledging the difference between rape jokes where the rapist is the butt of the joke and ones where the rape victim is the butt of the joke.
Daniel Tosh going after a female heckler by saying that it would be funny if she got gang raped is indefensible, but that's not the context in which all rape jokes are made. Even in her example where a comedian takes on the role of the rapist ("Someone got raped. I did it."), the comedian is joking about himself being an awful human being, not about rape itself or rape victims.
