I just don't buy into the "Flight Risk" thing at all. Flight Risks I think enter into play only when it is a player that has trouble making a roster. Instead of battling through it, they will sometimes go home. Very rarely does a Russian player prefer to play in Russia. Radulov comes to mind, and that is about it. Every other player I can think of (though I might have missed some) couldn't crack an NHL lineup.
Nichushkin I think is bound to be a superstar. SOME scouts have said he is going to be the best forward in this draft. His size and skills translate well to the NHL. He will be a beast that will be difficult for any team to contain.
I like Monahan, and I think he is going to have a very good career, but Nichushkin is just that great. Always draft BPA.
Nichushkin got out of his KHL contract (with the stipulation being that if he does not make the NHL, he plays in the KHL rather than the AHL, which is fine). He is staying here in North America to train. This guy WILL be in the NHL next season, without question. If he puts on another 15lbs or so, he will be a guy that will scare the defence out there - a big body with speed that can either make you look silly as he goes around you, or just goes right over you.
