I look at it more like actually giving the players in our system a chance to show what they can do rather than going out and signing "experience". There are plenty of examples of goalies coming from no where to be serviceable starters or better. Our last superstar goalie for example.
And I know there are a lot of examples of goalies coming in and crapping the bed too, it just seems like after years and years of gifting roster spots to signed veterans rather than letting our own players develop, people still want to see this happen. Makes no sense. Ramo is prime age for a "rookie" goaltender. I want to see how he does.
