I'm going to disagree. Watching the AHL this season experiment with the hybrid icing rule was nice. It was relatively easy for the refs to call it, plus there wasn't one dangerous incident throughout the whole season. It did what it was designed to do.
Yes, there was the occasional grey area where the d-man and opposing forward were tied at the faceoff dot, but really, it's better to have an upset forward than an injured one.
Put me down for liking it.
