I would say a bill for $3400 in property taxes on a normal home significantly impacts my life, even if it pales in comparison to the $36,000 I pay to the Federal and Provincial governments every year in taxes.
I dislike dismissing throwing money around just because it's 10% of the rest that I pay and calling it paltry. Wasn't it St. Nenshi himself that once said 'if you take care of the ('paltry') pennies, the dollars take care of themselves?'
