I would argue that the episode was originally designed to be a series finale, with the uncertainty that it would be back.

I think that the power out had run its course, there wasn't a whole lot left to run with in terms of that story line.

Having Neville as the key bad guy makes more sense and he did have a great line about Monroe having a erotic fixation with Miles.

I'm interested in where its going to go from here, but you are right the first few episodes have to be big ones.

The idea of a revolutionary war where America re-invades itself could be interesting to me. But I don't see what they had left with the power out.

There is still the possibility that someone pops back in through the software back door and de-activates the power.

The return of lightning was a very cool scene.
