FLA would probably want Johnny hockey and the 22nd pick (along with the 6th). Which is a Tad too high for my liking. Getting to the top three is going to cost more than the Flames should realistically be able to afford. And I know Jones is good but in my mind if they took MacKinnon frst over all we would have wasted assets to miss something the Flames needed more than anything else. Which is why they would be moving up in the first place.
I'd much rather see the Flames massage a deal with Ottawa to maybe move the 22nd up to 17th and get a decent prospect like Ceci in the same swing. Much more believable scenario would be 22nd pick and Cammy to Otttawa for 17th and Ceci, or something along those lines.
EDIT: I wanted Barkov more than anyone else in this draft but I am happily settling in on the Idea of Lindholm or Monahan. The assets the Flames will get by making three solid licks in the first round is a far better scenario going forward than loading up on one pick like MacKinnon. He's the super sexy idea of what the Flames need but I think strength in numbers is the right way to go.

Absolutely.
If the flames had a cupboard full of prospects, then trading quantity for quality would be a great move. But the Flames don't have assets to spare and are in need of both quality
and quantity.
