The Canucks are not only no longer a prime destination for players looking to win now, they are also hampered by a less-than-ideal cap situation heading into next year. I think all of this mitigates heavily against any chance of seeing Iginla suit up for the Canucks. I think that he is actually better off staying in Pittsburgh than moving on to Vancouver.

It's really a toss up as to where Iggy may end up because a lot of the real contenders are up against the cap and probably the teams that can afford to hand him out the best contracts aren't probably the ideal landing spot for a player with Stanley Cup aspirations.
If the Penguins win the cup that may change things as he will have his cup and may feel he can choose a destination that will be comfortable for him and his family as he winds down his career. In this sense the Canucks may be a good fit or possibly one of the California teams. Time will tell but it will certainly be in interesting story come July.
