Tanguay has very limited value.
He had limited value when the Flames signed him and it was dumb to give him such a long term contract. They'd have been better off with bigger dollars and shorter term.
Many on this board hated the signing, because they saw Tanguay for what he is, a very skilled, but equally moody and inconsistent supplementary winger. He's a good supplementary piece especially when you have a stacked team like when he won the Cup with the Avs, but he can't be counted on to be a leader, the Avs knew this and traded him.
It's stupid of Feaster to be mad at Tanguay at the exit interviews, because Tanguay did exactly what he signed for. Tanguay didn't lie to Feaster about what he was going to be. He was never going to be a consistent player or leader on this team, and to get mad at him for being himself was stupid of Feaster.
Just another boneheaded decision by a GM who doesn't really understand the game.
