There isn't no tornadoes, we do get some in Alberta, but usually there are only a handful a year province wide that actually touch down.
For example 7 tornadoes were reported in 2012 in Alberta, the total damage caused was a power outage for a part of a town, a roof being ripped off, some farm damage and some uprooted trees. In 2011 there were less than that, the only damage being to a riding area. Then I see 3 reported from 2010, all small ones too.
this one from 2004 is the last I can find listed as anything other than "small", an F0 or F1. it is listed as "large".

and in 2000? there was was by red deer that killed double digits, i think it was an f3?
the only f4 (some say low f5) to hit Alberta was in 1987 on "black Friday" in Edmonton.If is also the largest to ever hit in Canada.
I just think its good to come up here with your eyes open, but in comparison to what you you go through every spring/summer it will be like nothing.
