So about 5 hours ago I find out my grandma has passed away. She wasn't in Canada and was about 100 years old. I barely knew her, but did see her in the summer on my trip overseas. Now my dilemma is it's my best friends wedding tomorrow, but out of respect for my mom should I just cancel my plans to attend? I haven't talked to her about it yet since I haven't had the chance, but I think she would be ok with me going.

What would you guys do if in the similar position? If it was my grandma who lives here and I've known all my life then I think the easy choice would be not to go, but well since it's still my grandma but someone I have little attachment to, do you guys think I'd be making the right decision in going?

Just curious to what the proper protocol would be.
