78 points in 58 games and lead his team by 38 points in scoring doesn't scream of a player regressing to me.

McKeen's isn't dropping him because he played on a bad team. Did you listen to the interview? They have him at #11 because they think he's a 3rd line centre if he doesn't improve his skating. They think he can be a top two line centre if his skating improves.
Obviously they aren't as high on him as some. Scouting opinions will vary.
