I've wanted the Flames to land Mackinnon for a while now, I think he's going to be real good, but I don't think he's worth trading our 2014 1st (Which in my mind should be top 3; great chance of being 1st) plus the flames 6th overall pick this year and then some. I know about other fans, but I feel like next season will be MUCH more painful if we have no 1st round pick of our own to be optimistic about. Now if this was the 2015 draft and we were discussing this possible trade for McDavid, I would understand as by then the flames have acquired more prospects (hopefully) and can afford to pull the trigger on that deal. I feel completely comfortable with the Flames entering this draft with 3 1st round draft picks, and am excited to see who they draft as I am starting to really believe in their drafting as of late. Also, the player the flames take at 6th will be just as good if not a better prospect compared to Baertschi when he was first drafted (If they don't go completely off board; which I can't see happening).
