Any GM in the league that would not take two top four defensemen, one of which is under 25, a blue chip prospect not yet 22, and a top six draft pick for a number one draft pick, when there is no consensus number one pick, is insane and should not be running a team. How many times does it have to be said that there is no consensus on the number one pick and that every team is going to have a different draft list? Because of the volatility of this draft you may get the player you want at number six, especially if you are in search of a center. There are plenty of people who are already saying McKinnon may end up on the wing! So are you grossly over-rating the number one pick? Yes. Without doubt.
