Avalanche make 2 moves
The Colorado Avalanche made 2 trades tonight.
The 1st deal accomplished a goal to get into the 1st round of this years draft.
To Colorado
28th Overall pick
2014 2nd (PHX)
To Washington

Jani Hakanpaa
I was planning on having Frattin on my 3rd line going into next year but with the draft being so deep, I figured I could maybe grab a guy with a higher ceiling then Frattin at 28.
The 2nd deal is with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Coming to Colorado is blue chip prospect Mark Scheifele. Here is how the deal broke down:

My goal is to get a solid group of ECHL prospects so I can have guys make the jump and move out aging vets each year. With Dumba, Jenner and now Scheifele it is a good start. I have been after Scheifele for awhile now from Drew and finally got him.
