Its an easy sell for any player in a Canadian market if they preform well regardless if they're Canadian or not. We love hockey, and what Canadian franchises want more than anything is to win. If that means its a Swiss player or a Swede, then the fans will be all for it. I mean, in a Canadian market is there such a thing as a casual fan? This is our NFL and MLB.
Not trying to argue. Just that I do not think it's right that if that pick ends up being Canadian, that he automatically becomes something he hasn't earned. Like 3j3 said, I would rather a core of players to be the faces of the franchise. We want winning here. Not a face we can rally behind.
