My feeling is, usually top picks get traded for established players (ie guys going into RFA and not willing to sign with their current clubs). If say Correy Perry was RFA and wanted out of Anaheim, he'd be the type of player included in a package that can net you a top pick. The Flames have nothing like that, so getting a top pick with lower picks and prospects is just a pipedream IMO.
