Baertschi, Gaudreau, Hudler and Tanguay , Brodie Wideman are likely to be on the Flames roster in 2014-15. Hulder, Tanguay and Wideman have contracts til then and brodie-baertschi and Gaudreau are head and shoulder the best Flames under 22.
These are 6 guys that are more than 80-20 skill over grit and likely long term Flames.
To these guys add Butler and Smith and Stempniak and Cammy and other shorter term fillers and you get a picture of what the Flames need in the pipeline.
You can more easily trade for or pick up as UFA's the Roy's and Tanguay's and Mason Raymonds...... lot harder to get the Sobotka's and Glencross's and Backes
St. L. despite them messing up taking Bouwmeester is what I consider to be the model for the Flames to follow. They are going to miss Davidson over the next few years
Looking at their line up they have Macdonald (gone this year) and Steen 6-1 212 who would be 80-20 skill over grit.
On Defense they are getting softer with Bouwmeester added to Pietragelo and Shattenkirk even though all these guys are reasonably sized.
