My reasoning for Zykov over Mantha is this:

Zykov is a year younger, and in his rookie year scored 40 goals/75 points winning the rookie of the years honors. Mantha scored 22 goals/ 51 points in his rookie year. Now while Mantha had a great softmore year jumping to 50 goals/89 points- There's no reason to not believe Zykov will have a great improved softmore year as well as Zykov said himself that he wasn't all that impressed with his rookie year and he wants to improve even more. They are both big, Mantha at 6'4 200 lbs- and Zykov is 6'1 215 lbs. But from what I have read, Zykov has the better physical play, skating, and compete level.

I don't know, I feel there is a huge upside to Zykov that has only been scratched on the surfaced due to him only being a rookie. But, if he tears it up in his softmore year- hits hard, improves his skating, and scores like nuts, he may be an Alex Ovechkin v 2.0 and will be a sick under the radar pick up for who ever gets him.
