Sure they can.
But he has said the same thing about DUI/marijuana possession charges in Florida which turned out to be true.
He said the same thing about being kicked out of a Leafs hockey game which also turned out to be true.
And there were already rumblings about substance abuse after the organizers of an event to celebrate the Canadian armed forced asked him to leave because of inebriation.
Even his chief of staff suggested going to rehab.
So he already has a history of lying about issues, there are already rumours of substance abuse, 3 separate reporters have seen the video and all are standing behind their belief that it is real, and one of his closest advisers suggested he enter rehab.
And you wonder why people don't simply accept his "Ridiculous" comment?
