If he's dealing with Drug dealers or the like then the moment that he opens that pandora's box and pays them for the video, they will keep hitting him up over and over again.
Since we're dealing in hypothetical theory which is what your post is.
His best move would be to pay someone a fraction of the 6 figures to gut the video owners like a fish and bury them in the woods as soon as he knew who they were.
I could throw out another story just for fun. Maybe Gawker did have a tipster and maybe they had a viewing, but does it stand up to hard forensic proof? Maybe the Star just piggy backed on this story to boost their flagging circulation and the video maybe showed Ford there, but not partaking?
Maybe he was main lining heroine while strangling a little girl and the video was too horrible to put out to the public, especially when ford shed his skin and revealed his true form
We might never know now.
