If you can make a few laughs at the expense of grieving people, it's it worth it? Is there not a better time to point out the follies of someone's so held beliefs than after a tragedy? You're not pointing out how silly their hat is, your making fun of their entire misguided worldview and what gives them comfort. Maybe not the right time is all in saying
