The problem is that religion isn't just a positive force.
If you're gay and live in the US, it's a very negative force. If you are in Africa seeking birth control it's a negative force. If you tell your daughter she can grow up to be anything, and she wants to be a Catholic priest, it's a negative force.
So when there are so many negatives associated with religion, and the only response when asked about those negatives is "it's Gods will". then it
DEFINITELY matters if God exists or not.
