Well with the revelation that Nichushkin will be coming over pretty much right away, it sounds pretty likely that we'll definitely have our pick of these two guys. More and more of the lists I see seem to put Lindholm in that definitive "sub-elite" tier right behind the big 4 (big 5 now, I guess), with Monahan trailing behind a bit.

I'd be happy with either pick as well (and also disappointed with a D-man), but to me it sounds like Lindholm possesses much of what Monahan does, with perhaps a bit more offensive skill and flair to his game (and a couple fewer inches in height). He's been described as smart, mature for his age, in possession of a high hockey IQ, fairly refined two-way game, etc. You'd think that these things will all be coveted by the Flames on the 30th of June.
