If he doesn't care too much how much he makes, there will be a larger number of teams interested and he can pick his destination. If price is a very important point to him, his choices will be limited.
Calgary should not make him an offer though. It would be a mistake for both himself and for the franchise for him to come back.

The fact that he sold his Calgary house tells me that he is clearly looking at the Flames in the rear view mirror. If he wants a big payday obviously he will limit his opportunities but it remains to be seen how important money is. You can never underestimate the stupidity of GM's come July 1st and who saw that Buffalo offer to Doan coming last year? I simply don't buy at all that he's going to have to settle for a loser team like the Oilers because they will be one of the few teams to open up their cheque book.
