Hanowski is a character player with some size and grit. You need players like that to win in the NHL, or has no one been watching the playoffs? The guy's skating is a little awkward, but it does not hinder him from getting to the right positions and making plays. I don't see anything wrong with him to this point. He fills a need and didn't look out of place in the games he played at the end of the season.
On Bartowski, where is all that outrage that was present when the possible Bruins trade was announced by Ward? People were pissed that a 24 year old defenseman was in the mix in a trade for Iginla. Now they're lamenting the fact we didn't get him? Times change when a kid gets to play with one of the most stacked teams in the NHL I guess. We'll see how the fans react when his poorly timed pinches and mental errors are exposed by the Penguins. He's looked good against the Rangers, but the Rangers are being led by Rich Nash and Derrick Brassard, two players that were the heart and soul of the second worst team in hockey over the past few years. We'll see how his confidence fairs when he's up against Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Kunitz, Morrow and Iginla. I think his ice time is going to drop like a rock and the same showering him with praise will be questioning the coaching staff for going with so many kids on the blueline.
