I wouldn't be surprised to see United throw serious money around to make a statement that they won't be slipping without SAF. It's important to their brand that they continue to be perceived as the standard bearers in England, and one of the best of the best in Europe, any doubts on that could be reflected in their share prices, and that's the kind of thing that the Glazers are paying attention to.
