A 40,000 person stadium is too big for MLS, and it is stupid to build a purpose built 40,000 person soccer stadium. I'd much rather have a 20,000 person stadium.

Co-hosted bids have been frowned upon by FIFA, both Spain/Portugal and Belgium/Netherlands were knocked for it in the latest round of bidding. If Canada were to co-host with the US I'd be pretty surprised to see Calgary make the list anyways, Toronto and Vancouver would be the obvious candidates and it would seem unlikely that Calgary would bump any of the major US cities down the list. We are talking 20 years down the road here though.
