The US would probably have all 12 of their stadia larger than the largest one Canada would offer. Quite literally, the US would have twice as many tickets to sell. The average attendance could probably be 90,000 per game in the US, if they wanted to.

Yep, they could quite easily play in 3 100,000+ stadiums (Michigan Stadium, Ohio Stadium, Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium would be the most likely of the existing stadiums) and would have their choice of multiple 80,000+ stadiums (Rose Bowl, LA Coliseum, or it's replacement, MetLife, FedEx, Arrowhead and Cowboys Stadium, among others).
For Canada to host a World Cup there would need to be a massive stadium building spree, and there would be virtually no purpose for pretty much every single one of those stadiums after the World Cup. It would be one of the most absurd spending sprees imaginable, and that's without even considering other associated infrastructure upgrades.
