I personally feel that the short season was misleading. If this had been an 82 game season the flames would have been out of it come December. I really believe we would have been picking in the top 2 this year with a full season. We were 2 fluke goals away from drafting 4th as is.

I have center ice and watched a lot of other teams play. What i noticed was teams came out slow but gradually found their game, by game 15, and started trending up. I can't say the same for the flames. Their game play did not trend upwards after game 15, it seemed to plateau at that mark.

Feaster got one thing correct this year when he said the good home stand was very misleading. On a full schedule the flames would not have been seeing teams playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. Not to mention when was the last time weather played a part in 2 games?

The youngsters that came in played hard, but can they do that for a 82 game schedule? Look no further than the North to see that it probably can't happen at their age. Going to be some big learning patches for these young players, that's a good thing though. Add in that some of our remaining veterans seem to like to float ( i don't think that will change), it's going to be a long year. I like Cundari but that is a huge drop off from having JBO play 24+ minutes a night.
