Do you have young kids? That's another consideration. Some cars make it impossible to securely attach a car seat. I have taken out and put in my children's seats probably 100 times into rental cars, and some are way easier than others. The previous gen Fusion and the new Malibu were the two easiest I've ever had. The Sonata was easy too, so I'd assume the Optima is easy as well. The midsize cars seem to be best for my family, since my wife has a 3 - series BMW and it's tough to wrestle the stroller into the trunk and the two kids into their car seats, esp the 9-month old's bucket seat. Can't wait for her to be forward facing.

My current car (Avenger) is out of warranty and I'm leaning towards the Fusion or Optima as well myself.
