Brodie has been getting peanuts for ice time it seems and aside from this game against the Czech was one of Canada's better D man along with Dillon. This game was not a great one for Brodie. I won't hold the goal against him because it was a brutal turnover that put him in a bad position in the first place. That said he did have a few turnovers and misjudged a few plays although none of them were big deals.
Schultz was being used only on the PP for the last few games and that limited how bad he looked but for some reason he was used even strength a few times against the Czech and boy oh boy was every one of those shifts sketchy. He stood by on his blue line and watched as one of the players cut to the middle and raced past him into the zone for a break away all the while looking as confused as I've ever seen someone. On the PP he has looked just as bad between passing the puck into high traffic area's instead of to the open man and trying to force shots into the crowd getting maybe one or two shots all game through to the net. Oh and he took a totally boneheaded penalty to cancel out a PP.
All that aside Brodie really should be getting 3-4 Dman minutes but it seems he has kicked Ruff's dog or something. Then again not surprising considering it's Ruff we are talking about.
