Now I would never state that simply ignoring all star players is what needs to be done, but rather my point is that the Flames are moving in a new direction and as tempting as it will be to utilize all this cap space on name guys and free agency, we really need to build from within, at all positions and this should be Calgary's focus, not just signing and trading and thinking they'll be contending next year for a playoff spot. It's unlikely to happen, so continue with a plan of 3-5 years of growth into a major contender and acquiring as much youth and potential and options as you can.
So having stated the above, why don't we let the 4 or so goaltenders in the organization fight it out and earn the starting position. I have a feeling that Berra, Ramo, Macdonald and company will be every bit as good as what Fleury can bring to the table too.

I would be amazed if any of the 3 ended up as good as Fleury. Fleury seems to have a mental thing going on when it comes to playoffs. I have seen him during the regualr season and he is a good goalie.
Not sure the Penguins can give up on him already. Do they have anybody in the system to replace him?
