Just called iPhix and they do sell them, $35 for a brushed metal back. That would be my preference.

Interestingly enough, my wife just called and said she wanted to take it to some guy in Queensland to do it that had fixed her sister's phone, so I think we might just do that. Assuming it is the same guy you are talking about Sliver.
