Gillis is such a putz. Still can't believe he won an award for GMing the Canucks.
He came in in 2008, and inherited a team that had just about every key piece for the eventual 2011 Cup run (and back to back Presidents trophies) already in the fold.

Even the flippin coach was already in place.
The Ehrhoff trade was a good one, as was signing Tanev I guess....but any doofus could have inked Hamhuis (or Garrison for that matter) just by giving a half way decent offer, because Vancouver is where those BC boys wanted to go anyways.
He hasn't really drafted anyone decent outside of the first round, and the best guy he did pick in the first round was Hodgson, who he traded for a big dummy with the hockey sense of a shoe.
Speaking of trades, the Ballard for Grabner + 1st (Howden) trade and Booth acquisition were just as brutal as the Hodgson deal. Didn't give up anything worth worrying about in the Booth deal, but what a horrible contract.
...and on top of all of that, the Luongo "captaincy", umpteen year contract and horrible mismanagement of trading him has been icing on the cake.
Hopefully he keeps doing what he's been doing, all while his inherited core keeps getting older and more playoff fragile. Should have that organization run into the ground in no time.
