ok seriously,
do you guys watch the games or do you just sit here and blog.
Sven is an elite talent: his playmaking ability greatly improves the play of those around him; he has elite vision and finish; he has proven it at the nhl (maybe not enough but i am convinced). At this point would you trade Sven for Taylor Hall or RNH, or Yakupov straight up? I know, at this point I would always take Sven's competitive nature. Those guys were number ones. Why would we trade our best young player, and the number 6 draft pick (in rumoured to be the deepest draft in history). That sounds like crack-smoking logic to me.
The same goes for TJ Brodie. Kid is going to be a stud, you could see it 3 years ago as soon as his sweet skates hit the ice. He could already be the best skater in the NHL, give him some more time and he is going to be able to take over games for 25 minutes a night (something a team like the panters for ex can not say.) Defencemen are hard to find and this kid has a chance to be the best dman since Al Mckinnis.. No way Should we trade him..

The only way I make a trade for Mackinnon, or Barkov (48 in 53 in pro hockey wow!!!), is by trading draft picks, decent players (aka glencross, giordano, maybe stempniak) and marginal prospects (basically anybody but Gaudreau, reinhart)..
We need to build a team.. look at all the teams with forward Star Power.. Chicago(88, hossa and 19), Pittsburgh(87 and malkin) , Philly (giroux), Detroit(datsyuk zetterberg), Tampa(St. Louis Stammers), NYI (Tavares), Ducks(Getz and Perry), NJ (koval), SJ (thorton and couture), Van (sedin)

none of those teams except for Chicago, SJ and Maybe Pitt are going to win the cup. Its the good TEAMS that are the true threat for the cup (ok chicago is my favourite by far but) St Louis, LA Boston are all three of the best TEAMS in the nhl. They have 3 strong lines and good top 4 and solid goaltending. Look at how pittsburgh plays when Crosby is in there, not as good everyone expects sid to carry the load. This was the flames problem for so long. We had two good players (iginla and kipper) who could only do so much. We need brodie and Baertschi moving forward. If we trade all 3 first rounders i wouldn't bat an eyelash because those are unproven 18 year old kids but to trade players who will be impact nhl's along with a first round pick (6) is just insanity.
