That area is already becomeing "LA Live" district. The future cantos national music center is just on the other side of tracks. A couple hotels are being planned as well. I'm not from Calgary (born in Calgary, have lived in Lethbridge for 27 years), so I'm not 100% certain if you're talking about the same area that I am thinking about. If you are, I didn't think there was enough space to host an NHL arena, a CFL stadium, hotels and other entertainment venues as well as sufficient parking.
