She hasn't looked much in depth into DDPYoga, but based on what I've told her she said it can certainly help a person with any type of physical ailments if done safely and properly. Like any exercise, it can hinder your kid's ailments if the exercises are not done with careful care to proper form, as well as trying to do too much. So, know your limits. Since she doesn't know your kid's actual problems she still recommends having somebody who is familiar with your kid to make a recommendation.
