Or he thought it was a good idea to make people believe he thought he was getting a center when he knew he wasn't. In which case I think that's even worse. Either you're lying to your fans or you're hoping to come across as a moron.
The entire handling of the Cervenka situation has been enough for me to be perfectly happy to not see Feaster or Hartley as part of the Flames going forward, although I realize it's unlikely.

It's PR, every GM does it, they make new players sound better and more important than they are. What was he supposed to say? "Well we signed some guy from the Czech Snickers ads, he has a decent skill but will probably be mediocre for a year or two and we think in a few years he can be an NHL center even though he will be a UFA after this year and will likely sign with another organization."
And I'm not sure why you have an issue with Hartley, he played Cervenka as he deserved to be played, he was very clearly not reliable enough to be an NHL center.
