As it stands right now (assuming the Blues get knocked out in the first two rounds)their pick would be 23rd.
Simple rule: one division leader, Vancouver, is already eliminated (
). Nothing changes when a 2nd division leader is eliminated , but after that, each division leader eliminated (in the first two rounds) improves the pick by one.
So go NYI, NYR, Tor, Ott, LA, Det and Minny! If 4 of these teams make the conference finals, the pick would be 19th (best case scenario - and the Pitt pick would be 25th in that scenario).
Conversely, if StL makes it to the 3rd round, their pick will be between 27th and 30th
