Well the doppleganger for this trade is the RGIII trade, where the Redskins moved up from 6 to 2. And all it cost them was 2 additional firsts and a 2nd. Honestly top picks are nice, but guys like Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk Brendan Gallagher, PK Subban, Kris Letang...all second round or later picks, and better than many top 10 picks. Its about how you draft and who is drafting more than where your picks are.
