I have a family member who works at westjet, so I fly westjet a fair amount, probably 25-30 flights in the last year.

I had the misfortune of flying on one of the new planes on a trip back from Vegas last month, and f me I won't fly with westjet again outta fear I get stuck on one of those again. Screw the inflight entertainment missing I can deal with that but at 6'2" quite simply they have crossed the line, there is not enough room anymore. I've got some friends in the 6'3 to 6'5 range I've flown with before and it was pretty tight before, be downright impossible now.

But good on westjet for squeezing the extra 2 rows of seats on the planes. hope the extra revenue they get from the capacity increase outweighs the fact they just shrunk the size of the demographic that will fly on their planes.

I remember flying in some tight seats in Europe on Ryanair and BMI but that I could deal with seeing as it was a 30 minute flight i paid like 20 bucks for. But the thought of shelling out 600 bucks to fly to Toronto and spending 4 hours in one of those sardine cans. Hell no. It's unfortunate I did rather like westjet.
