If I was Gillis I would try to trade Luongo for a top 6 forward and see how they fare with a new head coach. If a new coach yields the same results or worse then you have to look at possibly moving out guys like Edler, Bieksa, Kesler, etc.

This. Fans like change and trades but GMs don't blow up playoff teams.
I would expect that they will do whatever is necessary to move one of the goalies (I think they will trade Schneider), bring in a new coach, grab another gritty bottom-sixer, and try again to win.
