OKs up 1-0 after 1.
Portland dominated every aspect of the game in the first except for the scoreboard (shots were 16-6 for the Hawks). The Winterhawks put the puck past Brossoit once on a sick three-way passing play on a 3-on-1, but upon review, it was determined that the Portland player kicked the puck in (close call, IMO, but the right one).
I said before that Brossoit is going to have to have a repeat MVP performance if Edmonton hopes to win, and I stand by that statement after the first.
There was a question earlier in the thread about Wotherspoon and Jones playing together. From what I could tell, they're mostly rolling two pairings on D: Rutkowski & Pouliot and Jones & Wotherspoon, then a couple of times, they got their fifth and sixth D-men into the game by pairing one with Jones and one with Wotherspoon. Most of the time, including on the PP, Wotherspoon and Jones were on the ice together.
