Wasn't Glencross a 4th liner (maybe 3rd liner) when the Flames acquired him? At what point do you start to deem a player important enough for the President to talk to? How does that look to those players who aren't deemed important enough?

I've worked places where staff below a certain level were invisible to management above a certain level. Then, someone gets a promotion to a level that's apparently made them a real human, so the big bosses will come and talk to them, but you're still not good enough and they ignore you. It's a good way to ensure no one on your staff respects you.

I can think of plenty of legitimate reasons (most have already been mentioned) why King may have wanted to meet with a Flames drafted player who missed most of the season due to injury whose ELC is expiring and will become an RFA this summer. As long as he wasn't giving the kid advice on how to play the game, or contradicting what was said by Feaster or Weisbrod or Hartley, I don't see how it can be considered a negative thing for him to do.
