Just got back from St. Maarten after taking WestJet the whole way, certainly not the airline I remember. I understand the whole tv thing south of the border but what really irked me a bit was domestic flight between Calgary and Toronto. Apparently we hopped on to one of their newest planes and they hadn't installed the tv's in the back of any of the seats yet. Their solution was to hand out tablets preloaded with all the movies you would normally have access to and tv shows but you had to pay $10 to use them. I realize it's a small fee but old west jet would have handed them out for free me thinks.
That and their freakin rows of seats all seem closer together. Got stuck in the middle seat on both flights there and back and that stupid little box under the middle seat really limits leg room. I'm only 6 feet and was uncomfy, must be hell for taller folks.
However, the worst part was, getting on the plane in St. Marteen the check in lady asked if we wanted the emergency exit. HELL YES! However it wasn't the emergency exit, it was the row in front. Guess what, those seats don't recline. Ones in front of you sure do though. So got robbed of the glorious emergency exit seats AND got mashed when the lady in front of me was kind enough to fully recline her seat during take off which made her seat snap back into my knees. Was not a happy camper.
